House update!

Getting the lights for the basement!

 

 Kitchen floor is getting done - and is almost complete!

 Basement is painted & lights hung (both by Chris)

 Fireplace is 99% done!!

Yay!!!

Horse show!

While I was in Florida, I went to a horse show with a friend.

What a beautiful barn - looks like a house!

 This horse show was low key - just a schooling/training show.  But I was so glad I went!  The girls from the barn that I went with did 3 events:  Dressage; Staduim; Cross Country
Before the show, we walked the cross country course.  It was long!  And no one knows the course until that morning. (goes for all 3 events, so you have to memorize all 3 that morning - yikes!)

 1st event - Dressage:   basic description:  Riders do circles, etc in a ring; having to trot; walk or canter at certain points.

 Event 2:  Stadium:  Riders jump obstacles in a circular area

 Beautiful day - but the shade was still very welcome!

 Event 3 - Riders jump obstacles over 5 or more acres

 Looks like so much fun!

Since there weren't too many horses/riders, the event ended by early afternoon which was nice.

 Dinner with friends visiting from IL (and some native Floridians)

 Nice walks on the only hill around - lets you see for miles!

 and beautiful sunsets on the ocean.  Ahhh

Florida Intimidator Triathlon!

First triathlon of the season!  It was a Tuff one too!  A lot of steep short hills on the bike that seemed to be never ending!  But fortunately the run was flat.  And Chris & I did finish - whew!

 It was a beautiful day  - a little windy, but that wind felt great on the run.  It was so nice to see this finish line - a long day for sure!  One of our longest half's - since it was so hard.

 The run went along the lake, so the views were beautiful (if you bothered to look :))

 Not sure we'll try this one again :)  so it's good to have the medal!

Enjoying some warm weather

 And baseball - Love Spring Training baseball games!  We used to attend the Phoenix divisions, but the FL ones are just as fun!

 Especially when you have home plate seats!

 We watched a local triathlon - the timing didn't work for us to compete - but it was fun to be a cheerleader

 And it's always nice to spend time by the water

Birthday in Daytona!

Bike week in Daytona - also means Supercross!

 

 Warm day with lots of clouds so not too hot!

 Spent part of the day in the pits

 Then part of the day trackside (our calves were hurting the next day after standing on such an angle!)

 Trackside was cool - as we saw the bikes practicing and qualifying up close and personal!

 But time for the main event - and the Rolex suites!!

 Nice comfy couches

Open bar!

 And birds eye view of the massive track!

 It was fun watching from high in the sky

 and under the lights

Great way to spend my birthday!

 GOAT was on hand too!
