Saratoga Springs weekend!

We headed west to upstate New York for one of our favorite events - Rolling Bones Garage Night!

It's a long weekend now - with Thursday night dinner; Friday night dinner; Saturday night (aka Garage Night); and ending with Sunday morning breakfast!  Whew!

We arrived just in time for Thursday night dinner at a yummy Italian restaurant.  Thursday night dinner is a smaller crowd - mainly the car owners and the hard core boners!

It's a fun night catching up with everyone - most we haven't seen since Bonneville or summer car shows (we hadn't seen many at all this past summer since we mainly sailed so it was good to catch up)

Friday morning - we cruised around town checking out our favorite stores and cafe's.

And then we head over to the garage, so we can get a good look at their works in progress.

It's a nice crowd, with people coming and going all day
Then we got changed and met everyone at the Saratoga Auto museum for dinner

Nice group of cars to check out
and a big group of people too!

After the event, we met most of the gang back at the hotel bar :)    We still went to bed early bc Saturday is the actual Garage night party!

BYC update

We stopped by the yacht club to see how it's looking.  And it's looking kinda sad :(  Winter blues are here!  But, meetings with the insurance company are going well, and the remodel project is out to bidders.  So the work can begin as soon as we pick a contractor!
Plans to build a simple tiki hut on a trailer for the summer are in place - so we will still have spot to gather!

Then we took a drive to Portsmouth to check on our sailboat.  This marina looks pretty 'wintery' too.

All the boats are buttoned up tight just waiting for spring!  Our sailboat is supposed to go into the water in mid May.  We have a lot of plans though, so hope we can stick to that schedule

New car!

Chris likes road racing so well...
He bought a car!!  2017 Corvette Gran Sport with the Z07 racing package- It is still at the dealership & driven some by the dealers,  so it has just the right amount of miles on it to be able to take it right to the track!

We are not huge corvette fans, but these are one of the best track cars available.  And since it's a Chevrolet - a lot easier and cheaper to maintain.

We have a new aluminum open car trailer to bring it home!
But the splitter is just too low - so we had to order race ramps.  And we'll be back another day to bring it home!

Baby shower

An ex co worker's daughter is having a baby in March!  My friend put on a lovely shower for her.
It was a brunch - so a yummy buffet
Fun games (they actually were fun :))
It was so good to see my old co workers - such a great group of peeps!!!
Nic sure made out - look at all those presents!!

BYC dinner

We made it to a yacht club winter dinner.  The BYC won't be open for business until 2020, so we have events at different venues in town.  This night's dinner was at Mt Hope Farm.  Great place
 Good food, great band
 Good dancing
 great friends!

Misc - a collection of stuff :)

We went to a friends house for dinner and we met her daughters huge cat!!  He's 21 pounds!  So we had to send her a picture of our huge cat!!  She's 15 pounds!  I think they would make a cute couple :)

More work on the lift and garage!!

The kids are getting along so well - ha ha, Not!!  Actually, Bolts is playing, but we can't figure out if Bean is or not.  She sounds mad, but is always instigating the fights, so I think she must be enjoying it too.  One minute they are fighting, the next they are both laying on top of me

It's cold, but we do get out side for a walk every once in a Great while!

And we got new runners - more fun and less likely to show Bean fur :)

Another day at the track

Chris signed up for another track day - this time at Homestead Miami Speedway!  It was a fun weekend - even though it rained the morning of his racing.
He was in a bright yellow corvette this time

Easy to see on the track.  They race rain or shine, so it was good practice for him

His instructor said he was a natural, and wished he all his students were so easy to ride along with :)
The afternoon track session was sunny & dry, so great training in both conditions.
