Visiting family

We drove to Brooksville to visit Chris' mom and husband.  Liz & Tony had a dinner event & play to attend, so we visited with them for a bit then had dinner at Bayport Inn & then we enjoyed some Christmas lights in a nearby neighborhood.

Visiting Sister

My sister, her husband, and puppy (Lily) came to FL for a visit

they were here for just a couple days, so we saw the usual Sarasota attractions

and we relaxed at some cool restaurants as well

some dolphins were up close and personal when we took a walk around Marina Jack

and we saw the fun Christmas lights at UTC

 short and sweet visit ;)

New members of the SSQ

we've joined the Sailing Squadron in town!  It's mainly small boat sailing, so we'll be sharpening our sailing skills.

we took a boat orientation class, since we'll be members of the boat share group.  There is no need for us to buy a boat in FL, especially as the yard is full and we would have to store it elsewhere.

we're excited to get out on the water next year!  We did go out for a 2 hour sail after the orientation class, but there wasn't a lot of wind, so we did a lot of just drifting ;)

 

Weekend car fun

cars and coffee events are everywhere these days.  Not many showed up to this one though - but we were still glad we got the Porsche out and about

and then we took a drive to a Porsche breakfast gathering.  We took a quick peek at the attendees Porsche's and then grabbed a bagel at Panera (since we were too late for the breakfast)

and on the way home - more cars at shows showing their stuff

and we spotted a relatively new showroom

later that day, we got smoothies (yum!) and took a relaxing drive along Longboat Key
