What's been happening - besides snow?

As I said in my last post, it's been a relatively simple winter for us. Usually we are out & about almost every weekend. But Chris told me last winter - after he bought his latest car project - we would not be heading to New Hampshire every other weekend, we would not be heading to Florida on any whims, but we would be staying close to home, so he could work on his roadster. Not a problem. It's been a good winter to chill, since the weather has been so poor. And I haven't had any desire to head north & see more freezing snow.

So, we've been out and about a bit. We have wanted to buy a 3 family as income property for a while. We made time to check out a couple.

This one is small inside, but has been completely redone - down to the studs, so little or no maintenance. Perfect, except there is no off street parking :(

I really like this Victorian, but there is a ton of maintenance. Something my husband is very capable of doing - if he has the time. Which he doesn't. I can help, but I can't do anything major by myself. So we're waiting to see if anymore come on the market...

Some other fun things:

We bought our cat some catnip & she had a lot of fun with it - but only for a while. I was hoping it would increase her exercising, but nope, nothing... she still needs to diet.

We bought our dog a new bed, and he loves it. The old one went into the garage, so he can enjoy it during the day (that's where he stays when we are at work, so he has access to an outside pen). Don't worry, we keep our garage heated, so he stays nice & toasty all day long.

We've been spending time at the gym. This is the stationary bike that we ride. It's ok, but our home trainers are better. We just like to change things up a bit, and the gym helps us do that!

We had to do another 5k (3.1 miles) per our training schedule. We were having a snow storm, so we had to do it on the treadmill. It wasn't pretty, but we got it done!
My picture is a little blurry, since I was still moving when I took it.

And we've been spending time at our local favorite restaurant: Nephews:

One of our favorite bartenders & another one is sitting at the bar behind her (it was her night off)

Bryant Hockey Game

Our winter has been pretty low key. I haven't made many plans, as I'm reminded almost daily: "we (meaning Chris) have a roadster to build" No worries, I'm still enjoying our low key winter.
Last Friday, we went to a Bryant University hockey game. My co-worker, Cliff, has a son who plays on their hockey team. So I thought it would be a nice change of pace to go watch a game.

We had a really good time & Bryant won! Cliff was fun to sit with as he had the inside track. His son is an Alternate Captain & played almost the entire game. I'm looking forward to going to another game, although Chris says maybe we'll check out a basketball game first. We need to warm up a little - the hockey rink was quite chilly!!

Another freakin' snow storm!!

Another foot of snow - only a couple weeks after the last one. I was hoping it was going to be a mild winter. Not so lucky! We do get to stay home from work today though, so it's not all bad :) And we don't have to make up snow days, like kids do!

Just makes for a messy wet house!

Garage Time... All winter long...

No big plans for us this 2011 winter season. Chris has his roadster project, so that takes precedence this winter. It's Garage Time - all winter long!! (for Chris that is)

I'll be spending time taking pictures of Chris in the garage :) & dreaming of summer.

Happy New Year!

Diets starting! Like many, we are starting our diets in 2011. Poor Twix - she needs to lose 1 pound. Doesn't seem like much, but she has been an eating machine lately. She constantly sits by her food dish & cries. Here she is waiting for her food to drop - and it won't for another 6 hours... you'd think we were starving her!

Toules needs more exercise. And Chris & I are back on our core diet: mostly fruits, vegetables, and lean meats.

Gotta love the new year!! Fortunately, we went to a really fun New Year's eve party with our friends from the yacht club, so we were able to really enjoy our last day of 2010.

Winter Storm

Good thing we did take the early flight. No snow when we landed, but just a few hours later & Chris was doing this:

and this:
We ended up getting 12 inches. Pretty on the first day, but that's the only day. So much, it will probably be here until March! We went hiking later that day too - enjoying the first big snow!
Toules too - it wasn't too deep yet
Visibility was poor, as the snow was really coming down
Hopefully that will be our only big storm of the season!! Fingers crossed!!

Christmas 2010

I love going home for Christmas! Here we are heading into town...
One of the first nights back home, we went out to dinner with my parents & their friends

Mom & Dad (and Chris)
Our trip back to my parents was relatively short. I could only take a few days off work. But we had a great trip just the same.

Me & Chris on Christmas Eve morning

Celebrating Christmas on Christmas eve, so my brother & sister could spend Christmas day with their own families.
A new addition to our family this year: my brother's family new puppy: Brindy. Wicked cute & goes 100 mile an hour!!

Here we are just chillin' before dinner

After dinner - getting ready to open the presents!!

Family pictures

It snowed about 8 inches on Christmas eve, so Chris & nephew Nick did some shoveling.

On Christmas day, we went over to my sister's house. Here is Chris with their dog (a wheaton terrior) - Keegan
My sister has a LOT of Christmas trees...

Later in the day, we went to a local bar - loved this sign

Dad playing the casino games

The Midwest - flat, flat, flat!
We flew back to MA the day after Christmas. We had to change our flight & leave early, as a storm was headed to the East Coast. Another trip home will be planned again soon!!
