Made the trip again! This time we flew for a long weekend. Bonneville is one of those places on earth that is so rare & different. We love it
Meeting up with the Rolling Bones crewTheir cars - getting ready to race
Fastest car on the flats: George Poteet's car. It went 443 on one of the days we were there - wow!
Our friend, Garrin, in line to get 'etched' His first time to the salt flats.
The tech lines
Friday night - hanging out with our Reno friends!!
in Wendover, Nevada
A lot of people & a lot of fun
There are 3 areas on the Salt Flats: The pits where the racers keep & work on the cars, the starting line, and below: the area in between, where people set up camp (temporarily b/c you have to be off the salt every night)
The lines of cars & motorcycles waiting to race. There are 4 race tracks. Racers go one at a time, trying to beat records. If they do break a record, then they go into Impound & have to do a record run the following morning (meaning they have to repeat it) It's not easy to get into the record books!
At the starting line & ready to go!
There are a lot (obviously) of cool cool cars & motorcycles
Hanging out with the Reno crew - & watching some racing
Ron Attebury - he built the chassis on one of Chris' hot rods. And he races at Bonneville!
The Reno (Peckerhead) cars
Heading back to Salt Lake City on Monday morning - beautiful sun rise over the mountains.
