We were up early and our friends decided they wanted to see the Cape. On the way, we stopped in New Bedford - the historic downtown has been nicely renovated, and it was a pleasure to walk around
We also took them to the docks to see the fleet of fishing boats - there are a lot of them!
Then we headed to the Cape - no real plan - just a cruise and stop along the way at anything that interested us - like the Cape Cod Canal railroad bridge
We stopped for lunch at a clam shack - the gang wanted lobster rolls
Poor little lobsters - I don't eat them :)
We drove out to Chatham to hopefully see some seals. We didn't (weren't sure where to look) but the beaches were nice to look at
love those shark signs - not!
Lots of boats in the harbors
we drove through a lot of quaint cape towns
and found a fun sand bar to have a late afternoon cocktail
We made it home and decided to have appetizers at the yacht club. Too full for an actual meal - but not too full for chips & dip and cheese and crackers :)
Then home with the kids. Tammy started planning their Vermont stops
and more pool
