Lime Rock racing day #3 - practice & qualifying

another beautiful day

we took a long walk through the pits

and camping area.  15,000 fans expected over the weekend - wow!

Chris saw this 356 Porsche, so we looked at it - but the seller wasn't around.  So he stopped & talked to the Skip Barber driving school guys

after lunch - it was race time for the Trans Am series - we did the grid walk

fast cars!    Get well soon sticker for one of the drivers who wrecked at Atlanta

then it was time for Chris to go back out.  His usual - hang back, work on getting good lines and let the speed come.  He's not interested in trying to win, or really compete.  He just wants to keep improving each time out.  Our mantra for all that we do - last place or 1st place doesn't matter, it's how we feel about the race.

that evening we went back to see the Porsche - and the seller was there - yay!

it was in great shape - and the price was amazingly good, so Chris took it for a test drive

and we bought it!  1965 356 Porsche.    We've been looking for awhile - and I guess the timing was right :)

then we went & hung out with our new racing friends.

and their pets :)
