Snow!

we had a snow storm - wasn't too stormy, but we did get a nice covering - around 4 inches

Bolts was happy!!

Chris had the joy of clearing the driveway :)

It was just enough to enjoy, but not make it too difficult to get around.  Nice walk around town in the evening

Bolts didn't like it that much the next day - a little too icy

but it was beautiful when the sun came up (and melted a lot of it away)

 

Hikes with friends!

one day we met our friends Marilyn & Alan and went on a hike near Newport, RI

the wind made it very chilly!!!

we stopped at a cool Refill shop in Newport - love this idea of buying shampoo, laundry detergent, etc etc in bulk - reusing your own bottles.   Less plastic in the world is good ;)

then we ate a yummy lunch - mine was a chickpea sandwich - yum!

Next day, we met our friends Bill & Barbara in Douglas, MA

we drove to their forest (horse riders on the way ;))

Nice forest for walking!  Bill & Barbara had their dog, Lucky, and a friend's dog who they were dog sitting

and we had Bolts

who was very pokey.  Lucky is the same age and ran circles around him!

 Fun day!  Weather was warmer and we had a yummy dinner (with apple pie) later in the day.

Lots of winter activities

Lots of BYC events too-this one was a talk about preserving our oceans

we miss these winter hikes - less ticks for Bolts to pick up & less hikers.  FL (in our area anyway) doesn't have much for woodsy hikes

even better when the hike path leads to water :)

 

a day in Boston

I met up with my friend Marilyn (city girl!) and we spent the day in Boston.  It was fun to be a tourist

most of our time was spent at the Contemporary Art Museum

some of the art work is pretty unusual and simple, but some is pretty cool

we took the long way back to the train station

we passed by the courthouse and a bunch of new citizens were celebrating.  It was very cool to see how happy they were.  Now, if we could get all residents to get through the same process...

such a fun day!   Need to do more things like this :)
