Polo outing

We went to Polo one Saturday with a group of our friends.  Lots of yummy food & good conversation.

 We did watch a little of the match :)

 It was a packed house!  It is so popular these days.

 Good times :)

 Bolts had fun too!

Mascoma Man Triathlon

We signed up for a half ironman in New Hampshire.  

Some fog in the morning, so the race started about 45 minutes late.  It was a pretty small race - so only about 150 athletes.  Chris & I were actually in the same wave group - (and it was small), so he took off - and I drafted him the whole swim!  IT was great!  And we had a great time too!

Then it was onto the bike.  ooooh, I wish we had taken our road bikes instead of our tri bikes (more aero & better on long flat road races).  The hills were crazy on this bike ride.  Some were so steep, I thought I would fall off!  There were a lot of steep hills in the beginning, and then the course eased into more rolling hills in the middle.  Then back to the steep killers at the end.  It was a long ride -(58.5 miles).  I was fried for the run, but made the 13.1 miles.  Chris had a great run - one of his fastest half marathon runs ever!

Weather was perfect for the race, thank goodness.  Warm, but not hot - nice breeze, and lots of clouds.  Sun would poke out every once in a while - really perfect conditions.

 My race was no PR but since it was such a difficult course and small -I won my age group!  Pretty cool!  They gave us sunglasses, a pint glass, and blueberries.  Yum!  Pretty nice!
Chris had a much better race - and he did well in his age group - but guys divisions are tuff!

Poor Bolts

 His skin is so sensitive - and his ears.  Seems like he is always licking his feet raw.  And now he has a massive ear infection.  Look at all the medicine they had to put him on!

We've still gotten to Polo this summer (enjoying our Bill Hill wine from Napa)

 Even though, Chris has been bogged down this summer with contract calls, etc (and I'm sure it will be even crazier this fall once the businesses are being merged)

 We are still making time to train for another Ironman!! ( Bolts likes to be included when we do our indoor training rides :))

Race car back in Reno, NV!

 The Bonneville race car was picked up last week & shipped back to Reno - to the Peckerheads. It was sad to see it go.

 Chris did a lot of cool things - including building a new manifold (I lost the pictures :( ).  So, here's hoping it will break the land speed record in August!  Go GO Go

Woodrow was in the paper!

Our Woodie made it into the local newspaper :)

 So cool!! - and see the guy in the picture above - the one on the right?  He's 96 & still works in his garage every day - WOW!  Pretty cool.  We see him at car shows all the time.  Lucky guy!

Cubs & Red Sox Baseball Game!

 Tickets to Fenway to see the Cubs & Red Sox!  Fun times - and the Cubbies won - yay!!

It was a warm warm summer night - the kind I love.  No coat needed :)
