On Day 2, we split up: A group of ours went on a jet boat excursion on the Rogue River. They had an amazing time! Chris had wanted to spend more time with Bruce, so we didn't make a reservation. (originally there was no dinner plans with Bruce) So 3 headed to the excursion and 5 of us headed west.
Our friend Tommy heard some weird grinding noise so we all pulled over to check it out
I had gotten bit by a bug on the Friday that we left RI. Now my arm had started to swell. Fortunately we have Donna who is a PA and knows everything :) I bought some allergy drugs she recommended & the arm was better in no time.
They just did a quick check on the sedan and we were back on the road
The noise wouldn't stop though, so we all pulled over again
Can't fix it on the road - keep going
We hit the redwoods, so we stopped to check them out. Only Jimmy stopped with us. The others went on to the Oceanarium in Crescent City. They had a 2 year old to keep occupied :)
The trees are just SO amazing. Huge!
Clover grows big here too!
Soon we were headed on to Crescent City to meet up with the others
Lunch break! We met the gang just as they were finishing up at the oceanarium - good timing!
Sea Lions
1st Auto zone we saw we stopped. Still tinkering with the sedan
Still couldn't figure it out, but it was getting better. So we headed north to Brookings & our hotel for the night
The group that had gone on the Rogue River Jet boat pulled in soon after
The gang was all together again! (notice Chris in his chair - it's Giana's stroller :))
Another fun night at dinner - the Black Trumpet I believe... We did stroll over to DQ to get some ice cream later too. What a way to end day #2!

Deuce Days - Day 1 Reno to Grants Pass
We flew out to Reno on a Friday night and at 7:00 on Saturday morning we were meeting our friends and heading north! We were riding in our 1934 Ford Roadster - it's first time on the west coast!
We were traveling with 4 other hotrods and meeting up with 3 more in Grants Pass, OR
I couldn't believe all the water in the lakes around Reno - they are usually dry!
1st gas stop - and also a stop at a Napa Auto Parts store - can't remember who needed what - we stopped at quite a few on our trip
Cindy and I eating apples across from the Apple Inn :)
1st group shot! Love these guys!
Such a beautiful drive - nothing like New England
Fire burned area
Missed a turn - another stop :)
Lunch in Klamath Falls, OR
Starting to get into some mountains
Somebody made an early pit stop, so we waited - another photo op!
Grants Pass, OR! We met up with Bruce - one of the guys' friends from earlier days
Cars looked nice all lined up!
Dinner & sangria - yum! We sat on the Rogue River - great view but my photos won't upload. It was a perfect way to end our first day!

Sailing with unexpected friends
Our friend from Sarasota, Robert sent us a text on Sunday and asked if we wanted to meet up in Providence. (He & his girlfriend live in CT part of the year) We needed to check on our boat so we suggested sailing instead and they were happy to join us. It was a little breezy, but a warm and sunny day.
We just sailed with the jib and kept the main sail buttoned up.
We putted around Hog island then went into Potters Cove and grabbed the yacht club mooring. Then we went swimming!
The water was a little chilly but felt refreshing. A lot of people were hanging out in the cove
The day passed way too quickly!
