Hot Rod Reunion - New Hampshire!

Chris wanted to attend the New England version of the Hot Rod Reunion.  He's been to Bakersfield, CA for their version (which he says is the best).  This one turned out pretty good.  They are still working on bringing the crowds - but it seems to be growing.

Our friends, the Helgers, had brought their drag car.
There were a lot of cars, drags, to see.

We ran into a lot of friends, so it was a nice afternoon.   A little warm - but better than rain or snow!
Chris' 34 roadster was picked as one of the car show winners, so we got the opportunity to drive down the drag strip!  Very cool!
It was such a neat experience :)  The sound the tires made was loud - since the track was so sticky.

Fundraiser!

The sailing foundation that I volunteer for had it's (every other year) fundraiser!

A good crowd turned out to bid on a lot of great items!

The speaker was Charlie Enright!  Skipper of Alvimedica - part of the Volvo Ocean Race!  Charlie is a member of our yacht club and graciously accepted our fundraising appeal.  He had just become a first time father 10 days earlier!  He's a past speaker at our fundraisers.  A few years ago, after his sailing trip with Morning Light (see the Disney Movie!!), he gave a slideshow presentation.  He does a phenomenal job!
Thank you Charlie - we had a great night!!

House Painting!

We've lived here for almost 10 years!  Wow!  Our home is about 13 years old, so the cedar shingles wwere starting to look pretty old.  We had our house painted when we first moved in (it was a very washed out yellow), but we didn't touch the shingles.
Here are some before pictures - it's a little hard to tell how gray the shingles are, since it was a gray day.

And here are the shingles after being bleached!  (well not really bleached - tused an environmentally safe way)

what a difference!  We weren't sure we liked it!  I mean, we did, but we didn't like the blue with the bleached shingles.  Of course, they had already painted the house, and we didn't want to pay another $6k for them to repaint it.  The overall effect is slowly growing on us.
We had to put a stain on the shingles, so they won't age as quickly.  We chose a natural, rather than a color (like gray) because a color makes them look too painted and uniform.
So, it's all set!  I'm so glad it's done.  The painters were here for 3 1/2 weeks.  I felt like I was living in a fish bowl - a worker at every window!

Polo!

Finally made it to Polo this year!  Sheesh - it's something we usually do about 4 times a summer.

We enjoy it as much as Sakonnet Winery.  Nice and relaxing.

and Bolts loves to play with the other dogs during the breaks
and he also likes to check out the Really big dogs (aka horses)
 another beautiful evening ;)

Sick kitty

Came home to a sick cat - oh joy!  Kidney and urinary track infection.  Off to the hospital we go.  She's doing fine, but was in the hospital for 4 days, so she's a little disoriented at home.  And the other pets don't know who she is!
