Enjoying our new ride!

Since we've been home, we have still been hitting cruise nights and car shows.  I guess we didn't get enough hot rodding on the west coast!

Dallas has borrowed 98d, and has been taking it to some cruise nights and a weekend car show.  He likes this car, and has been tweaking a few things for us.

We drove our red pickup and followed Dallas and friend, DP.
Then it was our turn to take it to a cruise night.
 Everyone seems to like it
So we also took it to one of our favorite car shows - Milltown!
Our friend took us on some nice backroads and through some cool New England towns on the way to the show - we started in MA, hit RI, CT, and then back to MA for the show!

This group puts on a good show - with a lot of bands; and good food.  It's always hot though!

Too many people like our new car - and I'm afraid it's going to be sold before we can really enjoy it...
After the show, we went to our friend's Charlie & Gloria's, so we could see the progress on his new roadster.  They also grilled us hamburgers - yum!!
It rained while we were there, so we waited out the storm and then took off.  We saw a cool double rainbow
And then we drove into the storm - but we were close to home, so it wasn't bad.
All in all, we are happy with our new addition!  Chris still needs to do some tweaking, of course,  to lessen the rattles and help it ride a little smoother.  There are a lot more car shows & cruise nights to attend this summer!!

And then there were 2 :(

I can't believe I did it - but I put our little monster, Pinto Bean, up for adoption - and someone adopted her!
So now, it's just Bolts and Twix.  A better dichotomy for our home - but I really miss that Bean :(

They took this awful photo of her at the vets (and then uploaded it to their FB page).  It's not attractive at all - but someone still wanted her
Another vet tech adopted her - so on her last day, I took lots of photos :)  She is such a love bug!

Aww Bean - I hope you're happy!  I miss you, but I know you'll be happier in a home that can give you more attention.
These two had no problem invading her space.  WTF Twix - you never lay on top of the couch...  They are probably worried they will be the next to go...

Little Bean as a kitten:  birthday (not actually known) 8/1/11.  Adopted  8/2/16

A New Toy!

Right before we left for our Canada trip (and I mean like 2 hours...), we got a new hot rod!

Our friend in Colorado decided to sell his awesome Rolling Bones built hot rod.  We were excited to have the opportunity to own one - since they have a 5 year waiting list to have one built!  And we do so much with the Rolling Bones (like drive to LA with them), it's nice to have one of their cars.
It looks good in our garage!
 and in our yard!

Olympics!

I enjoy watching the Olympics - I'm not obsessed where I need to see it all, but I do enjoy watching the events when I have time.

And it's also a good time to spend with the pets...

Track is cool - these athletes make it look so easy!  Studs!
And who doesn't enjoy swimming - and seeing the team win all those gold medals!!

 Go Michael!!
I also love the gymnastics; equestrian; beach volleyball; rowing...  it's all so interesting and something we don't see everyday.

Spending some time in Reno!

After our Canada expedition, we stayed in Reno to recuperate for a couple days.  We enjoyed some nice morning walks (way too hot - over 100 - to walk during the day)

And we cruised around to some old neighborhoods -and to visit friends.

It was nice to relax some before making the trek across country and to get some wonderful home cooked meals at Julie & Rays!  We flew - and left our 37 Ford in good hands in Reno.  Of course, as our luck goes, our flight was cancelled, and we had to reschedule through a different airline (as the current wasn't going to get us home for another 2 days!!).  By this time, we were ready to be home, and see our pets!

Canada Trip Days 10 & 11 - Heading Home

Chris and I got up on our last day in Canada - and went for a long walk.  We knew we were going to be sitting in a car for the next couple of days - so we wanted to kick off our day with a good walk!  Chris' tooth was still bothering him some - so we didn't run (except once) on this trip - just kept our exercise to walks.

Back to get the cars ready - our condom friend showed up again!  Gabe, Ciarra, Tom, & Cindy were staying in Canada for a few more days and were out deep sea fishing that morning. So Gabe's roadster was the lucky recipient -along with some flowers :)

Back to lining up at the Ferry
Another nice ferry ride back to Port Angeles, WA

And then there were 3...  only 3 cars heading back to Reno.  We took a more direct route and only took 2 days to get home.

We still had some amazing views

and still took as many back roads as possible!
The barn quilts in Oregon were amazing!  My friend Julie was so good at spotting them.  This barn was overflowing with them.
 Pit stop
The water here was so blue - it looked fake

A quick stop for dinner in McMinnville, and we cruised into the night to make our destination of Eugene, OR
A cool start to our last day.  It was supposed to hit the 100's in CA and NV, so we enjoyed the cool morning.

It was hot by the time we made it to this pit stop.  Ice cream was a must!  Only 1 1/2 hours to go...
We made it - back to Reno!  What a ride and what a trip and what friends!  WOW!
