Weekend fun

Dinner with friends at Roberto's!

 Sailing Foundation open house!

Getting tools from Dallas! (ok, that was fun for Chris, but not so much for me :))  Bolts loves to run around his shop though - lots to sniff!
Again fun for Chris - putting in his new seatbelt harnesses for the race car
Fun for Bean (ok, not really)- watching the robot vacuum do it's thing!  Bolts was outside playing in the snow.  He has WAY too much fun with our vacuum.  He smothers it so it can't clean well.

Buzz cut!

Bolts got his summer cut because we are headed back to Florida!

He's going to have to wear a coat when he goes outside now (until we leave)!

Ironman Hawaii!

I've paid most of my dues, so I've been invited to race in the World Championships in Hawaii! It won't be until the year 2021, so that gives me plenty of time to prepare for those crazy winds :)    I still have to complete an Ironman this year (am scheduled to compete in April in Texas again).   And at least a half ironman in 2020 and in 2021, which I was planning on doing anyway.

To get to the World Championship, you need to qualify (which is basically win your age group).  I usually do pretty well in my age group - but no where close to winning it...  But Ironman started a Ironman Legacy Program a few years ago:  if you complete 12 full distance Ironman races, then you are eligible to be chosen to race in the World Championship.  So that is the route I took!  I completed my 12th Ironman last April.  Yippee!

BYC dinner

Our Friday night dinner was at a local restaurant this week - Leo's.  Yummy Italian!

They also had a guest speaker - a writer who's familiar with Joshua Slocum's journey - the first man to sail around the world - SOLO!  He accomplished this in late 1800's!   Interesting story

Corvette projects

1st Corvette project - finish changing the seats to the racing seats (so the harness seatbelts will fit).  This was a 2 day project

Original

Racing!

Having fun :)
Nice comfortable seats!  Maybe we should put them in our living room :)
2nd project -  Got the new open trailer registered!
3rd project - finished the car shield and added the toolbox!

4th project - added the additional rollbar - it's hard to see, but will give the car extra strength for side to side

A couple projects still to go - but it's almost ready to race!!

We get outside - even when it's cold!

Bolts & I take a walk most days (he doesn't like to go every day bc it gets too boring, ha ha).  And I don't like to go out on the really cold days....  but we still get outside a lot in the winter.
We get to the 'beach' (it's not a FL beach, but Bolts still loves it)

And we get to the forest

A beautiful Holly tree decorated in the middle of the woods - how nice :)
And we also get out in the snow - which Bolts loves!

Bringing it home!

We got the trailer ready (added a front piece to help protect the car from road rash) , received the race ramps, and we had a nice day so we went to pick up the Corvette

Race ramps were awesome and the car went onto the trailer like a dream

Good trip home - and now it's in the garage!

Chris always has a project.  The Corvette came with the racing package, but didn't have the right seats (for the special racing seat belts).  So he's working on changing them out!

Crazy!  This project will take a couple days
And then he'll be onto this one - making a tool box for the open trailer!
