We picked up another hot rod in Indiana

The highway to my home town!!  But we are passing it by this trip

 The mighy Mississippi!

Our drive to the LA roadster show! Day 1

Our day started early - 5:30 am, since we were meeting up with some friends in NY.  Our 1937 Ford Phaeton was ready to roll.
Day 1 was pretty uneventful - roads we've traveled many times before; so not much new to see.  720 miles traveled!  We met our friends outside Buffalo, NY, and spent the night in Milan, Ohio

 Day 1 - 3 hot rods and 2 truck/trailers.

Phaeton time!!

We are driving our Phaeton across country again!!  Chris decided to change the 6 carburetor to 1.  It seemed to go smoothly, until... it didn't.

So Chris had to work his tail off the weekend before we left!  Oh, and the front tires had to be replaced - 2 days before we left...  Crazy!!

Finishing a project

We finished our bathroom - never really found the right blue, but we don't mind the color we have (just wanted it to have a little more gray in it - it's hard to really see the color in these pictures, but it's more of a baby blue - purple is gone)
I wanted simple curtains and shower curtain, but these white were a little too plain
So I used some of the paint - and splattered our curtains.
It just gives the white curtains a little more style
We'll do our bedroom next - but that may not occur until this winter.  Too many fun New England things to do this summer!!

Summer fun is here!!!

Our summer favorite events are starting!!  Live music on Thursdays at Sakonnet Winery and Polo!!

The first Sakonnet Thursday has a pretty light crowd (which is nice).  The band was Great and the wine was even better!
 We drove our '41 pickup

It got a little chilly once the sun went down  - the heat lamps help :)
 On Saturday's - it's time for Polo!
 Ahhh

The marine layer rolled, and this night got a little chilly too!
But it was still a wonderful day!

Wednesday night racing!

Since we're keeping our boat back in Bristol, we are able to get back to sailboat racing at the yacht club!  1st race - a beautiful evening!
There are about 51 boats registered to race at our yacht club on Wednesday nights.  The starting line can be quite crazy - fortunately there are 5 different classes.

We got 2nd place in our class!  So nice to actually be in the mix - our last racing boat was slooooow.

Memorial Day cruise!

Our yacht club planned a Memorial day cruise to New York Yacht Club, and then to the East Greenwich Yacht Club.
We were happy for the chance to use our boat on a beautiful weekend.

It was windy and a little cool on the sail from Bristol to Newport, but we made great time.  The boat sailed perfectly!  Just in time for appetizers and an amazing dinner with the best views.

We stayed on the mooring overnight.  The night turned extremely windy - it was so loud, it was hard to sleep.
The next morning, we took Bolts for a walk around Newport.  He was glad to be off the boat :)

Then we left Newport Harbor and had a nice easy sail to East Greenwich.  There was a sailboat race going on, as we left the harbor.

Beautiful day - nice simple breeze and 80 degrees
We had a slip at the East Greenwich Yacht Club, so once we were docked, we walked around town.  Very cute town with lots of restaurants, shops, coffee bars.  Loved it!

Back at the yacht club, we had a relaxing evening, with our group grilling and chilling ;)

No wind, no boat movement - nice evening for sleeping!  We were up early the next morning though - for another stroll around town, and some more relaxing on the deck.
Then we had to sail home to Bristol, so Chris could spend some time working on his antique cars.  Lots of trips this summer, so they need to be in tip top shape!  These long weekends are great - we can get so much accomplished!!
