Memorial Day cruise!

Our yacht club planned a Memorial day cruise to New York Yacht Club, and then to the East Greenwich Yacht Club.
We were happy for the chance to use our boat on a beautiful weekend.

It was windy and a little cool on the sail from Bristol to Newport, but we made great time.  The boat sailed perfectly!  Just in time for appetizers and an amazing dinner with the best views.

We stayed on the mooring overnight.  The night turned extremely windy - it was so loud, it was hard to sleep.
The next morning, we took Bolts for a walk around Newport.  He was glad to be off the boat :)

Then we left Newport Harbor and had a nice easy sail to East Greenwich.  There was a sailboat race going on, as we left the harbor.

Beautiful day - nice simple breeze and 80 degrees
We had a slip at the East Greenwich Yacht Club, so once we were docked, we walked around town.  Very cute town with lots of restaurants, shops, coffee bars.  Loved it!

Back at the yacht club, we had a relaxing evening, with our group grilling and chilling ;)

No wind, no boat movement - nice evening for sleeping!  We were up early the next morning though - for another stroll around town, and some more relaxing on the deck.
Then we had to sail home to Bristol, so Chris could spend some time working on his antique cars.  Lots of trips this summer, so they need to be in tip top shape!  These long weekends are great - we can get so much accomplished!!
