Final Car show of the season

Our friends came from CT for a visit before the show.  Bolts loves visitors!

It was a beautiful morning - albeit quite chilly!!  Brrr!
Breakfast first - yum!  But then it takes the guys a while to get moving...
A pretty drive to the show

Chris added some wheel covers to the roadster for a different look.  He's not too fond of the color - it looks good in some lights, but not in others.  He doesn't think he'll keep them on long.  Just nice to change things up here and there, without making it permanent.

A nice turnout - even with the cold windy weather

Our friend Ritchie brought his new Model A - very nice!
Once again - one of the last to leave :)
But another beautiful drive home!  Great way to end the season!

Starting the sailboat winterizing process!

Good weather periods have been short, so it will take a few days to winterize our sailboat.
One afternoon, Chris was able to change the oil in the motor, and take almost all the cushions and extra sails off the boat.

It was a little crowded on the way home :)

Swap meet season!

Maybe it's not the best sailing season, but it is a good time for swap meets!
And when they are in Connecticut, you are guaranteed a beautiful ride through the fall foliage!

 and quaint towns!

A lot of people with stuff - but not anything Chris really needed.
But it's fun to walk around - good exercise!

It was held at a race track, so there was a lot of space
The drive home was just as spectacular

Go Cubs Go!

So happy to see my favorite baseball team make it to the World Series!  It's been a long time coming for a winning season - let alone making it to the biggest game!

I took these photos with my phone - while watching the game on TV :)

all thanks to this guy.  He really is a genius - first with the Red Sox and now with the Cubs.  He's got to feel pretty good!!

So fun to watch - and I was happy the final game to clinch their spot was so enjoyable since they scored early and often!  It will be nice if they win the WS, but this Cubs fan is just happy they've made it this far!!

Final sail of the season

October is our favorite time to sail, since the waters are less crowded, and the scenery is beautiful.  Usually the weather is cool in the mornings but warm in the afternoons.   Our weather wasn't as good this October  - a few days of the nice, but more of the windy, blustery, damp.  So we ended our sailing season with a short cruise around the bay - not with our usual overnight to one of the islands like Block or Martha's.

Time to winterize!

A car show and a wedding reception!!

Headed to CT for a good fall car show.

Lots of pumpkin patches along the way
And the trees are starting to turn.  It's so pretty - until the leaves fall off
We drove our pickup, since we were going to have a late night.  Our friends got married in LA during the LA roadster show - but were having their reception today, so more friends and family could attend.    Chris' brother drove our orange coupe.  He enjoys driving it - especially now that Chris has fixed a few of the suspension problems
Almost all of our favorite car peeps were in attendance.
 Great turnout!

The guys always find some reason to lay on the ground...  Here Chris is looking at another guy's suspension - and giving him tips on how to improve it
Rain was expected - and we drove to a wedding reception
Our friends live in a beautiful 1700's farmhouse.
It's just amazing - and exactly what you would expect in the CT countryside!  The interior has beautiful wide pine boards for their floors - just gorgeous!  They also have an amazing barn, where he does his car stuff (of course!)
They have a lot of property, so a huge tent fit in well.

 Food trucks!!
It was a drizzly evening, but fortunately no big downpours.
Our friends looked wonderful!!  And it was so fun to go after one of their  (and our) favorite car shows.  What a day!
