More house stuff

Cutting holes in our roof for the skylight!

We are adding a fireplace, so we had to pick one out (gas; not wood burning)

The skylights in our garage - we'll have 4 in the front and 2 in the back
View of skylight from the 'attic'

They will be redoing our roof as well.  We knew that we would need one - so it will be done once the skylights are in
Our garage full of wood and stuff.  Not more parking in the garage for a while!
 Skylight!
These boards on the top of the picture will eventually be our living room ceiling.  The floor where Chris is standing will be gone.  It's going to be quite different!

They will be tearing our ceiling down in a week or two.  So we have to prepare.  One way it to build a 'door' in our hallway, so the kitties will stay in the back of the house.  I have no worries that the fat white kitty (Bean) will hide.  But the antique Siamese will be right in the thick of things - as they tear down the ceiling - or she will be scampering out the door.  She's a wily one and is going to be upset at being confined to 3 bedrooms and 2 baths....
We also had to 'move' again!  Emptied out most of the kitchen cabinets (some will be torn down); and we had to move the furniture.  The kids weren't happy - all hung together.
Our empty living room - which will soon be cathedral!  (and have a fireplace).  This built in will be moved to our 'library'
Our sunroom is packed with our extra furniture.
More of the sunroom.  The rest of our stuff is in the guest bedroom :)  Sorry, can't have any overnight guests for a while.
I moved a lot of our kitchen to the guest bath closet.  Good thing it's big!
It will be nice when we can really get settled!  But it's still going to be a while.  It will be worth the wait though :)

Back in the workout groove

We have set up a nice workout room in our new house.  It's not as big as our last workout room, but I like this one much better, as everything is in the same place!  We still need to hang some photos and buy a couple medal holders, but it's set up enough, so we can get some work done!

We have some triathlons coming up, so we are back on the bike

and when it's really cold - on the treadmill.  We are also swimming at a new pool. I haven't taken any pictures, but it's a nice warm pool with a lot of windows - so we don't feel like we are swimming in a cave (like our past gyms).  It's a busy pool though, so we have to figure out our swim times.
We have one picture hung up :)  One of our Lake Placid Ironma's.  Good inspiration - right by our weights!
Some good  books that I'm loving lately.  Danica's Pretty Intense is perfect for the new year and very inspiring.  She has good quotes for your mental happiness; recipes; and killer workouts.  I was lucky enough to be in her test group last year (trying out her workouts); and they are intense - no doubt about it!  I really like the mental aspect she has in her book - it's really good.    And I love the HGTV show Fixer Upper with the Gaines.  They are so much fun to watch and their story is just like they are - sweet and down to earth.  So sad the show is ending.

Good reading!

Workin' it!

Getting even More wood!

This time - they delivered the beams that will cross our open concept living room/kitchen!
The upstairs is coming along nicely.  You can see they have framed in the skylights!

Soon they will be tearing down the floor (here) which is actually the ceiling for us.  Will be quite a change!!

ArenaCross!

It's dirt bike season! Supercross & ArenaCross time.  We made it to a Supercross event a couple years ago, but haven't been back to ArenaCross since our Reno, NV days.  It was fun to get back to an event
Pit Passes
We were able to walk the track and meet the riders before the event

And soon it was time for the main event!

They make it look so easy.  This track is much smaller than Supercross, but it's just as fun to watch!

And we love watching the little kids ride.  They are amazing too - and have so much fun!

Fun night - glad we were inside though - it was only in the teens outside (and we felt it as we had to wait in line for 15 minutes in that freezing cold!  Brrrr!)

Getting our construction on!

The basement has been framed - still needs sheetrock.  But the framing guy has moved to the upstairs.  He's working in the attic and getting it all set, before taking the ceiling & walls down.
Lots of wood!  and that's only one load

Our attic is huge.  It's hard to tell since there are no windows so not much light.  But we could easily have a second floor in this 'ranch'.  But instead, we are going to cathedral our living room, kitchen, and eating area.  And add skylights, so we'll have more sun!

This kid is busy!  Getting the skylights framed in and removing the insulation (brr, no wonder our house feels cold this week!)

He only works part time, so the work will take a while.  But we aren't in a rush, so no worries.
