Getting ready for something new

Land camping here we come!  We've been RV shopping for over a year, (debating the pros and cons of all the types of trailers and motorhomes) and we've finally found the one!  First things first though - getting the Jeep ready for towing.  And what a project that was for Chris.

Full day of fun!

First - breakfast at Mt Hope Diner - so nice that we can eat outside.

Then an afternoon of sailing
It was pretty breezy - around 18 knots of wind, so we kept it simple and just flew the jib.
We sailed for a bit and then dropped anchor in Potters Cove so we could take a swim.  Our friends were also relaxing in the area.  So we had a swim get together :)

Our friends having fun - too tired to swim back to their boat, they dinghy'd back - he was driving, and she was being pulled along, laughing the whole way!
And the cruise home was nice and easy with the wind behind us.
That night, we stopped to get some ice cream - what a view!

Red pickup cruising

I'm telling you - it's a repeat summer - we're either sailing or hot rod cruising!  We are also riding our bikes and running but it's not as easy taking pictures when we're doing that :)

There are a couple beaches near us that Bolts like to run.  This morning was a foggy one.

Bolts is getting a lot of sand in the pick up.    We're looking at our hot rods and talking about which ones we'll be selling.  Again, we have too much stuff that requires too much maintenance.  And we are ready to do some different things.

Enjoying our sailing time

We enjoy late afternoon sailing - less boats on the water; sailboat racing may be happening (like below)

and we get to see the sun set :)

Some different clouds can really make the harbor beautiful

Early afternoon sailing is fun too - because we can take a dip on those hot days (and we've been having a lot of hot muggy days this year)

Anchoring in Potters Cove - on a warm sunny day, there are a lot of boats for 'boat watching'

We've decided to put our sailboat on the market.  We've been talking about it for a couple years now, so it's no surprise to us.  We just have too many things that require a lot of maintenance, and Chris is spending too much time working on them and not enjoying them.  We still love sailing, but we can use the yacht club J 22's or Mercury's for day sailing.  And we have friends that we can sailboat race with (this has been an odd year, so we haven't).  We'll still be spending a lot of time on the water (I"m a Pieces and I need my water!!).  And we'll probably be in the market for a boat again at some point- so it's more of a break.  And if our boat doesn't sell, then that will be fine too.
So I took some pictures for the company who will be advertising our boat, just in case they need them.

Hanging at BYC

We're also enjoying just relaxing at the yacht club.  It's a nice way to end the evening.

And the drive to the yacht club is pretty spectacular - if you take the Colt State Park route

And once you get to BYC - ahhh

There's always something to watch too

Bolts - hiding in the bushes.  We've bought him some calming treats so maybe those will help...
