Sailing home

Another foggy morning, so we delayed our start until mid morning.  The fog burned off nicely at least.  But now we had to deal with different tides
Lots of boats were coming and going through the narrow OB channel

We were planning on sailing through Vineyard Sound.  But the winds took us over to Falmouth, so we sailed though Woods Hole and thus Buzzards Bay
Woods Hole can be Crazy!  Fortunately, the current and tides were in our favor.  It's still a narrow busy channel
It's hard to see in this picture - but the waves were going every which way.  3 monster power boats had just passed us.  We had to motor sail because there are tight turns and the current can sweep you away if you aren't careful.
Then it was a beautiful sail through Buzzards Bay.  Very very long though

We finally made it to Sakonnet river, where we had to motor sail again so we would make it home before dark

The winds were strong and favorable in Mt Hope Bay, so we turned the motor off and sailed for a bit more.

 It was a beautiful sunset

It was nice to get home though.  Long day on the water :)
