Hanging around the big island

we didn't rent a car - so we spent our week on the big island just chilling out, and enjoying the Ironman events which were close to our apartment

a radio personality hosts all the pro triathletes on his daily podcast, so we would stop by most mornings & see who was on tap

Ironman also hosted a lot of events during the week  - fortunately most were outside, but we still only went to a couple out of the dozen activities

past world champions gave their opinions about the race - it was a cool event to hear their stories

ironman village was up & running - more vendors than the last few events we've been to

we ran into some friends from our old tri club in Reno - Dave & Nancy!  It was so good to see them - we hung out with them a few more times during our week
