Gathering of the Faithful car show

Last Sunday was another of the 'good' car shows; and this one is right around the corner from our house!
Beautiful day - we were so lucky! Last year, it was cold rainy & threatening to snow!

Our friends at the small but really good swap meet section of the show. Chris is talking to Lee; and Charlie & Charlie are also hanging out (and Toules!)
Our friend's car - he still has his reliability run sticker on his car from the previous weekend.

View of the show from inside our car; I forgot a hat & sunglasses & needed to take breaks from the sun (since I was still on the Lyme disease medicine)

Our friend, Dave. He had just gotten back from a 2 week trip to Italy - lucky guy!

We invited a group over to our house after the show. They had been asking to see Chris' projects & Chris was happy to oblige!
On our way!
Stopping at a convenience store, to make sure everyone was accounted for. We had to make a few turns & didn't want anyone to get lost b/c we live out in the boonies.
We had one mishap on the way. The 1934 phaeton (Paul) ran out of gas. Chris took the group on to our house & I jumped in with Charlie to help Paul and to give directions. Fortunately, he ran out of gas next to a farm; and they had had some extra gas that he was able to buy. So it was just a short diversion.
At the house - talking about cars, of course
In the garage
Checking out Chris' project

Lots of cars at our house, and I had a new camera, so I put it to good use!

Chris fell in love with this Phaeton - the green 1934. It was a beauty!

Getting ready to leave :(

And they are off!
Bye phaeton - hope to see you again soon!
Chris - one happy camper!
He'll have to make sure he has a new project every year, so the guys will want to come back!

BYC Harvest Ball

Finally, we managed to make it to one of the events at the yacht club! It was the Harvest Ball - so we could dress up; go dancing; and hang out with good friends!

Hanging out in the bar before dinner. We were chatting with one of the members who is also a member of ... the prestigious & expensive New York Yacht club; and we found out that our club has 'dinner' privileges at the NYYC all winter. Yippee!
Looking forward to more good meals there - they had the best filet mignon!

Our chief steward - Chris - he takes care of everything. This night he was helping out at the bar.

Best bartender - Natalie

The band!
The band was serenading our table while I was taking pictures of other tables - figures I would miss it! At least I got a picture of it :)

Dinner in the Chart Room

Time to dance!

Reliability Run 2010

Happens every October - a group of hot rods gather together & cruise Connecticut; Massachusetts; New York. Chris & I look forward to it every year!
Last year, the weather was cold & rainy - this year: perfectly beautiful!

Hanging around at MJ Tuckers - waiting for the 1st days directions

We drove our 1931 Model A pickup. Tight quarters, but a lot of fun! Toules came along too - he had to ride on my lap - poor guy.
Off & cruising!
Our friend Ron from the Bonneville trip (almost everyone from the New England area that went on the Bonneville trip was here)

Later in the afternoon, at a gas stop, we met up with our friend Bill. He took us on a little detour to his house - to show Chris his latest car project. I took the opportunity to jump in with him & give my bum a rest :) His car is a 1949 Chevy with very comfy seats!
Picture of our pick up from Bill's window

Final stop of the day - Fall Out boys car show

About 40 cars went on the Reliability Run this year - lots of cool ones!

Of course, ours, is the coolest :)

Break time! Ritchie & Billy O enjoy some brewski's.
Dinner at the Wooden Tap - great food

Next morning - getting ready to go again

1st stop was breakfast at a yummy diner.

Some of the gang

More

More
and more!

We've met so many people from these reliability runs. When Chris & I attended our first one a few years ago, we kept to ourselves & chatted with only a couple people. Now we know so many people, the weekend isn't long enough to talk to everyone!!

Relaxing after breakfast - getting the directions for Sunday's cruise

And we're off!

Our window was a little dirty for Sunday's ride

We ended our day at Chutes Gates - a cool bar & grill. I smashed my camera in the door, so I couldn't take any more pictures. Then we headed back to Massachusetts. Am already looking forward to next year's run!!
