Patriot Triathlon

One of the best half ironman triathlon's in MA - and it's right around the corner from our house!

Race day had perfect conditions

Neither Chris nor I had the best race.  Our swims were good and the bike ride went well (normal pace), but our runs suffered.  Chris still had a good finishing time, and still ran well, even though he said it felt slow.  I didn't feel real good on the run, so I put some walk breaks in early.  Then at mile 10, I got my calve cramps, which turned into excrutiating charley horses at mile 11, so I had to walk the last few miles very slowly :(  My first time walking through the finish chute - but I was so afraid to get more charley horses - they are killers and stop you in your tracks!

Later on, we met up with some friends at the yacht club.  A nice way to finish the day.

And then on to a yummy dinner!!

More car shows!

We drove the roadster to one - it always gets a lot of attention

And there were a lot of cars there!
Some cars/trucks you don't get to see very often

 The venue was Gillette Stadium

And then we headed to Connecticut to meet up with some friends
We drove the Phaeton to this one!
We drove with Chris' brother and some other friends
Long drive, but it was good to see some CT friends :)

My niece's first triathlon!!

She's only 16 - and decided to race her first triathon!  So cool!

At the start

Getting ready to swim (500 yards)
 The bike!  (13.3 miles)
The run (3.1 miles)  And done!!  Great job on a rainy wet morning!  She did really good in her age group too - really rocked it!  We are all so proud of her!

Local antique bike show

We've been to this show a few times, and it never disappoints.  it's right around the corner from us :)

It has really grown over the last couple of years - look at all the bikes!

The real attraction is the vintage bikes that come
 Some very cool ones
This is our friend's - nice Indian
A gang of mopeds came too - hope they took the back roads!!

Wine & Dine!

Thursday evenings in Little Compton, a local winery offers music, dinner, and wine :)

 Their white wine is delicious!
The band was very good - better than any band we saw there last year.  It was a small crowd (perfect size, actually), because it was the first event for the summer.
Bolts was enjoying the wine too  - ha!
The summer concert series lasts until late August (wish it went on longer).  Summers in New England are wonderful - I just wished they lasted all year long!!

Other fun

We did manage to see the strip  & lights while we were in town for the triathlon

We also stopped by a couple TV shows - Counting Cars
and the Pawn shop (that also has it's own show, but the name escapes me)
And we went to Las Vegas Motor Speedway
We did the Richard Petty Driving experience - very cool!  I did the ride along.  I sat in the passenger seat, while a professional driver takes you along the track at 160 mph.  Loved it!
But Chris actually drove the car!
 That's Chris driving!
Chris chatting with the professional driver after his experience.  The pro was in the passenger seat, and gave tips as they drove along the track.
We also headed out to Red Rock canyon for some sightseeing

and made it to the Bullring for some racing!

 and wrecking...
