Practice Race!!

Launched on Monday; sail it to home port on Tuesday; practice race on Wednesday!  Whew!

Beautiful night

Only 4 boats in our class showed up (most still haven't been launched yet!)  So it was nice & quiet, ahhh
Good wind though - so we had a nice heel upwind
 Nice & flat sailing downwind

And a beautiful sunset to finish off the evening.

Out with the old & in with the new!

New furniture day!!  We took our old couch & love seat to Chris' brother.  It still looks great, and I still love it, but we are both tired of brown

Of course, now we are all gray, hmmm

We love our new stuff!!  But we will have to keep some of it covered so the pets don't mess it up too much

They have all been all over it.  But it seems like they may not sit on it as much as the other.  These have hard tops on the back, with pillows.  So not as comfy as our brown leather.  I've only seen Bolts on the back once - when the movers were pulling away...
Btw, this old lady just turned 16!!  Yippee!  Deaf as a doorknob, but otherwise pretty spry :)
In this picture - Bean is on the couch, Twix on the blue recliner, Bolts on the overstuff chair, sigh.
Our rug will hopefully arrive next week.  We still need to get:  a new pool table cover!  End tables & lamp.  More shopping!

Taking care of everything!

A couple busy days!  We got the dog walked!

 Our sailboat was launched!

We still had to add the sails :)
and then we sailed Aeolus to our home port in Bristol.   It was a little drizzly, but not a bad day at all.  Nice & quiet on the ocean

And we also moved our coupe from the trailer to the basement garage!!  Yippee - Chris is starting to get settled!

More VOR!

Volvo Ocean Race weekend!  In port race on Saturday & left for the next leg (to Cardiff, UK) on Sunday!  We didn't make it to the in port race since it was such a rainy day (2 years ago, our sailboat was in the water, so we watched both days from our boat)
On Sunday, we headed to Fort Wetherill on Conanicut Island to watch them depart for Europe!

The sun was out - and so were a lot of boaters that followed them out to sea!

Coast guard was in attendance too

 Vestas 11th Hour Racing!!

And just like that they are headed out to the open ocean - almost 3000 miles to their next destination.  Wow!

A rainy day leads to lots of projects (but not car ones like Chris would prefer)

Painting projects!  Basement (more gray), but also red & black!

and the laundry room, where we changed it from gray to brown (the floor is a brown tile)

Plan is to add some more Coca Cola items.  And eventually add barn doors to cover washer/dryer.  And change out sink & mirror.  But probably not for a while. Chris is anxious to get back in the garage!
And we worked on some more wall art - adding a sign & rearranging this cubby

bought a clock that you can see from everywhere!!
 started working on this cubby...

We did get to a swap meet.  We went early to avoid the rain

 No luck though
So on the way home, we stopped at some antique stores :)

Just a couple small purchases - but we got a lot of ideas!
