Finger Lakes Camping Day #3 & #4

the day before the race, we drop our bikes off, and listen to the pre race meeting

the day of the race, we race :)   well, we swim bike & run.  We try to enjoy the day as much as possible, and that means letting those fast guys go right by :)   Our days on the course are a little longer these days, but we still feel accomplished.    This race course was great - nice cool lake swim, rolling bike course with mostly smooth roads, and small town run with good crowds in places, but quiet spots too

Finger Lakes Camping Day #2

the lakes are visible from so many places
lots of wineries & breweries in the area too

we took a drive to Watkins Glen to see the race track.  We drove part of the historic road course too
Watkins Glen Road course

Clash was having a triathlon there too (the following day)
more beautiful views of the area.  Lots of farms & woods, and low population

we weren't racing the Clash triathlon, but we were racing an Ironman event - in Geneva, NY
on our way to check in.  The parking lot was 1.5 miles away from the race, which would make a long walk on race day!
swim course
check in.  There aren't as many vendors as years past.  Covid really put a damper on any fun events that draws a crowd

back at our campground - they were having some live music on the lake

and an outdoor movie was playing too.  Lots of activities to choose from!
