BYC meetings and a storm!

Meeting time in the summer is always nice when you can be outside!   Last minute meeting for our sailing foundation fundraiser

the next evening, we stopped by the club (Chris was supposed to be race committee for the night, but was thinking it might get cancelled since Tstorms were predicted)   Well, the storms came, and the racing was cancelled

we all huddled under the awning and watched the storm

we were all so happy, since we haven't had much rain this summer

it poured!!   Lightening hit one of the pine trees in the front of the club and it caught fire.  Fire trucks came, and then ended up taking the tree down - sad

Wachusett Mountain Porsche event

we met some friends at Wachusett mountain (a 90 minute drive) for a Porsche event

it was a very hot day, so it wasn't as well attended as normal

but they had a band, and catered lunch :)

and games

 and we had a nice time.   Fun drive home too!

outdoor pool at the Y

 Indoor pool cleaning, so outside it is!  At least it has been a warm summer, so the water temp is nice.  Lots of camp kids hanging around make it a fun place to be too - especially on those 2 mile swim days

early dinner and a cruise

we've been having early dinner at least once a week - due to my bike ride schedule...   I'm on the bike most of the day, so I'm ready for a real meal when I'm done.

Sailing the mercuries

the sailing foundation that I volunteer for, also teaches adult sailing.  It's not just for youths!    All the instructors are volunteers from the yacht club.  Chris has been an instructor for a couple years now.  I attended one evening, so I could take photos for our newsletter

it was pretty windy, so my photos left a little to be desired :)

Pam was our captain for the evening, and she did great!

the J/22 sailboats were out racing, so we went by them and took some photos

then it was back to chasing the Mercuries around
