Bristol day #4

Another early morning - this one was a little wetter.  Fortunately, the snow didn't accumulate on the roads

it made the trees look pretty though.  We were driving to Watkins Glen, NY to look at a sailboat.  We drove through some cute towns along the way.

we arrived at the boatyard in the early afternoon and it was cold!
Sabre 36 - daysailer.  Cool boat, but poorly maintained

too bad, we liked the simple open design, and the boat had really good bones.  So with a good cleaning, it would be ok.  But such neglect makes you wonder if things won't work.   This poor boat owned by an extremely wealthy executive had not been cleaned in the 6 years it was owned by him.   It was priced high too - for all the cleaning it would need.

Water was left in the bilge causing the keel to push out once the water froze.  Too bad.

Maybe - if the price comes down.  One positive is that it was kept in fresh water.   But anyway - off to lunch we went

and we saw some cool waterfalls on the way back to the high way

we were going to stay with some friends from Saratoga Springs, NY, but they were fighting colds, so we (Chris) drove back to Bristol.  Long day in the car!
