Early morning, no wind, calm seas. We motored a little closer to Seal rock :)
and then we were off! We were on our way to Mount Desert Island - Southwest Harbor . We hoped to sail, but it looked like it would be just a motor.
oatmeal for breakfast
heading through Eggemoggin reach
we cruised past the Torrey Islands - where some BYC'ers stayed. We saw The Lippmans on Sand Dollar
and Paul on Grace (the boat we did the summer cruise upon)
The wooden boats were racing again today - from Brooklin to Camden. We saw them motor to the start (which was delayed due to light winds)
a seal popped up right next to our boat :)
Lots of boats - close to 100 were supposed to race
nice peaceful day on the water
more porpoises came out to play
wind finally picked up, but we were close to our destination
Southwest Harbor!
we went ashore for showers
back on Sea Rose - we watched the harbor traffic
then we took the dinghy to the other side of the harbor to meet some BYCers for dinner
seal in the water - you can barely see him
our friends were running late, so we took a short walk around
dinner time!
I had a salad, but our friends had Lobster. Poor little guys.
beautiful sunset
a couple porpoises came out for a bit as the sun sank
Last night on the boat!
