Summer Vacation!!

We took a summer vacation!  And we decided to sail to Martha's Vineyard :)  We usually go in the fall (and will probably go back again this fall) b/c summers are pretty crazy on the Vineyard.  And yep, it was!

First day, we stopped in Padanaram - one of our favorite little coastal towns.
They had live music playing :)
Next day, we made it to Oak Bluffs.
 Every morning was beautiful.
We brought our mountain bikes, so we did a lot of biking.  But it was fun biking - not like a workout.
And with these views, who can say it's a workout!!
We biked to our favorite little harbor - Menemsha
Made it to Bettlebung corner :)
Stopped at a lot of beaches (there are SO many on the island)

Saw East Chop; West Chop; Edgartown lighthouses
 Edgartown harbor
 Enjoying Edgartown harbor.

Our sailboat in Oak Bluffs Marina (which we love b/c we like being on a dock, but the marina is full of red neck power boaters - who party all night - which was not so cool)  This shot is before the scary powerboaters parked next to us.  How scary - they put a full size home window air conditioner on their boat - so it would blow into their open hatch - weirdo's!
We did enjoy some nice sunsets from our dock though

 Oak Bluffs ferry landing

We had some lovely breakfasts; lunches; and dinners :)
and spent more time on the beach! On the coast of somewhere beautiful...
This one - we walked for 3 1/2 hours!!

And so we stopped at Bad Martha's and had some awesome beer!!

We did this!  Jumped off the Jaws bridge :)  It's about a 3 second fall; so not too quick; but not too long.  Good times!

Our last evening, we went with some friends to hear Johnny Hoy.  He is Great!  Fun music and he has a Lot of followers.
Departure day - some fog - but it burned off early and we were off!
 See you again soon!!
Maybe this fall, we will do a quick stop over, and head further out to Nantucket.  We haven't been there since '08.  It's a little more exclusive.  MV is pretty easy to get to, so the riff raff is beginning to make it's appearance.  We still love the island - but...
