Daytona 500 - Day#3

Low cloud morning, so we knew that rain was coming.  We enjoyed a nice walk around the infield anyway & watched the Cup cars practice

We made it back to the RV's in time

just before the rains came - and it poured!!

We had breakfast by Peggie - indoor this time :)

The rains did stop, and the crews got back to work.  We walked around the fan zone in the afternoon to check out the activity

The fan zone was pretty quiet for the afternoon practices

Back at the campers to wait for the evening race.  I rode the bike trainer for a bit.

The blimp was out and about early

Then back to the fan zone where we met some of the Thunderbird pilots.  So young!  And talented.

Xfinity race got off without any more rain - yay!

Lots of wrecks though

 

But no long delays and the race ended by 9 pm (which was early compared to the other races!)
