Sailing Trip Day #4: VH to Hadley's Harbor

We were up early for a run - our last morning on the Vineyard

We ran by the house that we rented when we got married in 2005!

wild turkeys!

west chop lighthouse
self propelled electric lawn mower - it kept going and going
Can't beat the views - so many spectacular ones around every corner.

We then met up with the rest of our group and rented some bikes - we rode out to Lake Tashmoo

Then to East Chop lighthouse and Oak Bluffs

Then we rode the bike path to Edgartown and back
a nice 3 hour tour!  Then it was time for lunch at Black Dog Tavern

Then bumper boats - and back to the sailboats!

We left Vineyard Haven (late afternoon) and sailed through Woods Hole to Hadley's Harbor
It was a quick 2 hour sail
Hadley's Harbor is so peaceful.
We had cocktail hour on the boat

Then we all piled into one dinghy and we toured the harbor.  It's a harbor on Naushon Island, one of the Elizabethan islands and owned by the Forbes Family (for almost 150 years now)

So pretty - water was so calm

There were a lot of boats anchored and on the moorings.  The island also offers a sailing camp for kids - they had pretty cool Herreshoff designed boats

Then Bill & Barbara took off to their own boat, we all had an early evening - quite an adventurous day!
