St Pete boat show

a beautiful day - we headed north to St Pete - over the Sunshine Skyway bridge

There were a lot of  boats to view - nothing that we would really want - but it was still fun to peruse them

we only went on a few boats - one of them was this Jeanneau sailboat - love the light wood

then we took a walk to downtown St Pete for lunch
Yum - naked farmer was a great choice!
after lunch, we walked around town a bit, then headed over to the pier

we loved the walk & views - so much to see
wow - the St Pete yacht club - beautiful building
and we thought the covered boat parking was pretty cool too
Loved the day - so nice to do something a little different

Visting my cousins

My cousins are still lucky enough to own 20 acres in Nokomis - just south of Sarasota.  They rent some of it - a new renter is just using this pasture for his horses - he's not even using the house.
Chris needed to send off his fire extinguisher for the race car, so we took it to my cousins to set off, since they have plenty of room.  And they are trained fire fighters, so that's always helpful.
They work on fire trucks - and always seem to have one needing some help

They were doing a major motor overhaul -yikes!!
It's always fun to see my cousins & hear their stories (they currently have a baby alligator living on their property that they keep catching it and removing it, but it keeps coming back....).   I also was lucky to have my cousins' girlfriend visiting at the same time - she's an RN and going back to school to get her PHD - so she had some cool stories too :)

Raleigh Day #3

Brrr - another cold day - and this one included freezing rain!
the view out their back - they have baseball fields in the backyard (way back), and love it.
their screened in back porch
cute plaque about friendship
lazy morning, since the roads were slick - we stayed home and played salon :)
yep, icicles on the cars
we did go out in the afternoon.  The roads were just wet, even through there was still some ice on the trees and grass

we went to visit Amy's son & fiance & their 2 golden doodles

They have recently moved into their new home, so they have a lot of planning & decorating to do
It's a beautiful home in a lovely neighborhood..
and then we went to one of Hayley's nutrition stores to get a yummy shake

later that night, we looked through some old photo albums of college days.  Boy have we changed!

Amy's 2 kitties - always hanging around :)
Day #4, we relaxed & went to the airport around noon.  My flight was a little delayed, but not too bad.  We all got home safely
