BVI Trip Day 4

another beautiful morning!    We did get small rain showers pretty much every day or evening.  But they never lasted long, and they didn't interfere with any of our plans.
we took off early again - this time our destination was Saba Rock/Bitter End Yacht Club on Virgin Gorda

But before we arrived there (we had a mooring reservation, so we didn't have to rush), we stopped at The Bath's.  An area on Virgin Gorda - which has a fun hiking trail amongst large boulders (Some of which are immersed in water).  To reach this - we had to dinghy to a roped off area, then swim in.  Crazy!

Trying to find the best place to swim ashore
Needless to say, I didn't take my camera, so no fun pictures of the Bath's.   A cruise ship had also arrived in Virgin Gorda, so the area was teeming with cruisers - which wasn't optimum, but we still had fun

every where you look - you see houses being built.  We could never be sure if they were being rebuilt from the hurricane or if it was new construction
another fun resort - we didn't stop at

we did anchor off an area called 'The Mountain' which had some good snorkeling.  We all jumped in for a few minutes (it was a little chilly)   Another fun stop for the day!    Overall the water temp was 80 degrees, which was nice but could be cold if you didn't keep moving

none of the islands are that far apart, which is fun if you just want to bar and island hop.  The winds weren't cooperating, and we couldn't do a lot of sailing, so it was just as well, we didn't have to motor for hours to reach our destinations
late afternoon, we reached Saba Rock.  The area that we moored was kind of open, but by this time we were resigned to the fact that it was going to be windy no matter what.  Decent sea swells and wind were the order for the week.  We all did fine with it though
Bitter End Yacht Club
we had a full day, so we did not go ashore (we were spending 2 nights in this spot)   Instead we cooked salmon on the grill
there were a few boats with us.  It was a little quieter than the other islands, but we were further out too.  The furthest island is Anegada, but we didn't have enough time to make it there.

good food
Beautiful views

relaxing evening
